The Department of Public Utilities is seeking feedback on the proposed updates to the Design Standards Manual.
The proposed revisions to the manual include reorganizing the manual to incorporate common elements into individual sections and capturing current design practices.
Comments will be accepted through Friday, June 30.
Submit Your FeedbackThe purpose of the Design Standards Manual is to provide conformity in the design and engineering review of public water and wastewater utility improvements, that are owned and maintained by the City of Virginia Beach, Department of Public Utilities.
To assist with designing pump stations to conform with the City's standards, a prototype drawing is available for reference purposes.
Lateral CCTV inspections are performed as part of the acceptance process for developer-installed gravity sewer infrastructure that will be contributed to the City. A copy of the policy is available to view.
Details that are applicable to a specific project are to be inserted into construction drawing sets and shall not be altered in any way. Redrawn details will not be acceptable.
