Attention Customers: Delays in our meter reading schedule have resulted in bills that include more days of service than usual. With more days of service, customers’ bills will be higher than usual.

This office does NOT handle routine requests to start, stop, or transfer service.
Customer requests for processing utility connection fees (for new and renovated properties connecting to city water/sewer for the first time) are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call (757) 385-4636 or email PULineFees@vbgov.com.
All customers are required to email a completed AWWA Calculation Form to PULineFees@vbgov.com prior to their appointment in order to determine the proper water meter size for the property. If the capacity of the current water meter does not allow for the proposed additional plumbing fixtures, a larger water meter must be installed and associated fees must be paid.

The Water and Sewer Line Connection Fee Exemption Program provides property owners who are either 65 years of age or older, disabled, or financially disadvantaged with a reduction or complete exemption of their water and sewer line fees.

Businesses needing to access water from a public fire hydrant can request a portable hydrant meter from Virginia Beach Public Utilities. The portable hydrant meter will ensure that companies are charged correctly for the water used.
To request a portable hydrant meter, please email PULineFees@vbgov.com or call (757) 385-4636. Approval is at the discretion of Virginia Beach Public Utilities.
City Code Sec. 37-22 prohibits the use of fire hydrants except by the Fire department, Public Utilities personnel, and authorized persons.
