
Lakecrest Pump Station Replacement
The sanitary sewer pump station located at 739 Riverbend Road will be demolished and a new pump station will be constructed at 3300 Lakecrest Road.
All Virginia Beach administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Fireworks displays are scheduled to take place at Mount Trashmore Park and the Oceanfront at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. A complete list of impacted services and open facilities is available.

The Department of Public Utilities is replacing the sanitary sewer pump station located at 739 Riverbend Road. The pump station, built in 1969, has reached the end of its useful life and has experienced ongoing flooding issues.
This work is being done as part of the Department's Aging Infrastructure Program.
A new pump station will be constructed at 3300 Lakecrest Road, an area with higher elevation to alleviate flooding issues. Additionally, a permanent generator will be installed as a backup power source. Once completed, the expected service life of the pump station is at least 60 years.
