The Department of Public Utilities is replacing approximately 1,250 feet of gravity sewer lines within the utility easements in the backyard area between New Colony Drive and Old Providence Road. Additionally, four manhole covers and 65 service connection lines will be replaced. This project is part of the Department's Aging Infrastructure program.

During construction, residents in the project area should expect:

  • Construction within the utility easements and temporary construction easements.
  • Removal of existing fences that encroach within the limits of construction. Temporary safety fences will be installed at the limits of construction for the duration of the project. Upon completion of the project, new fencing will be constructed along the Utility easement.
  • Trees and vegetation within the permanent easements will be removed.
  • Sheds will be relocated outside of the easement limits for the project duration.

This project will enhance the reliability of the sanitary sewer system serving the surrounding area.
